WHAT IS YOUR PRICE?

When talking about successful business, we mean the profit that a company can generate. Photography business is still a business, and we should not forget about this. The number one rule for me is never shoot for free. You think you will maintain strong relationships with your clients by doing that. The truth is that those people will not take your business seriously and rather see it as your hobby. There should always be a price for your work. I made this mistake many times. I tried to build up my portfolio and thought that these clients are helping me, so I would not charge them. At the end of the day, those people were happy with pictures, and they would gladly pay me the price if I’d ask. Another mistake that in my opinion many people make is setting the price too low. The reason is the same for everyone – we want to attract more clients and maintain strong relationships with them. This tactic might work for a while, but when you realize that this is not enough to meet your profit and will raise the price, then most of your clients will be gone. The people you attract by low prices are the ones who care about money more than about good photographs. Those are mistakes I and people whom I know have made. I hope it will help you to avoid these mistakes.
What are other advice would you give for people who just started their photography business? Write them down in the comments or send me an email.
