Best Photo Editors

When you actively shoot photographs, some of the pictures may turn out not the way you want. We all make mistakes. The shutter speed was too low; the aperture was two high… These mistakes could be reasons for too bright or too dark pictures. Do not delete them right away. You can always play around in Photoshop or other programs to normalize colors.

In this blog post, I want to talk about different editing tools that I use to edit my pictures.

1. Photoshop. It is a well-known platform among many people. It is really helpful when you want to spend time editing every detail on the picture such as skin tone, eyes, background, etc. There are tons of ways how you can manipulate with a photo. For those manipulations, I would recommend shooting pictures in RAW format. It will give you more flexibility with a photo without loosing any quality. The big plus of Photoshop is that even if you are unsure how to make any effect, there are millions videos on YouTube teaching you how to do what you need. I personally like to spend 20-30 minutes a day learning new features of the program.

2. Lightroom. It is another Adobe photo editing program that is always good to have. It gives you even more flexibility with RAW images. I started to use it recently and still learning it. It does not have as many tools as Photoshop; you cannot cut out objects, compose parts from different images, etc. However, it is great for editing colors, exposure, tonality, and more.

3. The first two tools I described above are great, but expensive. I would still encourage you to purchase them, but there are some free substitutes to them. One of them is GOOGLE PICASA. It is great if you do not have time to edit pictures or do not want to go deep into editing process. It gives you good quick results. I use this program only when I need to share my pictures on Google. Otherwise, I do not use it.

4. There are also many free mobile apps that can give you really good results. I like one app – VSCO cam. I found it extremely easy with just the right tools. It also has a big library of nice effects. Those effects look natural, that’s why I like them.

I hope you will try all these programs to see what suits you best. Give me your comments about what

programs you use. It will be interesting to know about your preferences.
