In my previous post, I was talking little bit about branding, and how it is important to a company. Consumers define the brand, and it is the image in consumers’ minds. Our main goal is to generate the right thoughts in the minds of the right people about our company or even about individual persons.
Ask your close friend what he/she thinks about you. Then, ask your classmates the same question. Then, ask teachers. Look and compare their answers. If you think that people have a wrong image about you, then you should seriously think about branding yourself the way you want.
Branding can help you and your company in many different ways. For a young photograph professionals it is extremely important to be unique. Look around. There are millions of people who have cameras and who are able to shoot amazing pictures. Why I should choose you and pay you money? What makes you so unique?
The answers on these questions you can find in one book. It is called “The Complete Guide to Building Your Personal Brand” written by Neil Patel and Aaron Agius. It is a book about how to build your personal brand from the start. You can apply information from the book to your company or just to yourself. I personally very like it because it is very visual. It has images, brilliant examples, and it is also very easy to read. There are so many books about branding, but this one caught my attention. Moreover, it is free. You can find the link to the book here.
I would recommend taking a small notebook and righting down every exercise from the book. It will help you to see yourself from different perspective and combine your thoughts together. It is not the book that you will read and forget next week. I personally is reading this book the third day and righting important things down. It helps me a lot.
The book has 8 chapters:
I really hope that these titles made you interested in the book and you will find time to read it. Again, the link to the book is here, or you can click on the chapter above that interests you the most and read it. Have some coffee, a notebook, and a pen, and start benefit from the book.
I also want to hear what you think about the book. Write down your comments or send me an email. Good reading, guys!
